For many people, a place of worship isn’t just somewhere to visit once a week; it’s part of their community. It’s where they see their friends, celebrate life-changing events like weddings, and gather for activities open to everyone, like youth groups or Bible studies.
A church, synagogue, mosque, or other worship center is much more than a building. But it’s the property and the staff that need the insurance coverage Hastings Mutual can provide. This July, we updated two of our several endorsements:
Worship center endorsements for commercial policies cover what you probably expect to see in insurance coverage — the building, computers, and protection against disasters like fire or sewer backup, among other things. But there’s also coverage on the items that make a worship center an important place to you and your community: musical instruments, stained glass windows, and even headstones and grave markers. Our gold-level coverage increases the amounts covered for several items above the silver-level coverage, and offers a few other benefits as well.
Coverage also extends to the people working with the worship center — not just religious leaders, but also officers and directors who make sure the business side of the facility works smoothly. The endorsements cover elders, deacons, and others who spend their time before, during, and after services.
A place of worship provides much more than something to do on the weekend. For some people, it’s their business. For many, it’s a home away from home. Shouldn’t your “second home” have the same protection as your house?
